【Case Study Title】
Lot Traceability in High-Temperature Ceramic Firing
【Application / Installation】
Placed on ceramic setters used in high-temperature firing processes
【Product】
USC-3000 (Heat resistance up to 1,650℃)
【Challenges】
Precision ceramic components used in automotive applications are fired in kilns at temperatures exceeding 1,000 °C after forming.
From a quality assurance perspective, traceability at the firing lot level was essential. However, reliable lot management during the firing process was difficult due to several issues:
・No identification tags capable of withstanding the firing temperature
・Adhesive labels attached to setters posed risks of detachment or foreign material contamination
As a result, reliable lot identification during the firing stage was difficult to maintain.

【Solution / Benefits】
The USC-3000 high-temperature identification tag (heat resistant up to 1,650℃) was introduced. The tag can simply be placed on the ceramic setter during firing, requiring no adhesives or mechanical attachment.
▼Key Benefits
・Withstands temperatures up to 1,650℃ covering the firing temperature range for ceramic components
・Adhesive-free placement allows repeated use and reduces running costs
・Eliminates the risk of foreign material contamination
・Easy tag replacement during lot changes, reducing operator workload
・Linking tags with setters enables usage tracking and lifespan management of setters
Reliable lot traceability in high-temperature firing processes was achieved, while also enabling lifecycle management of ceramic setters used as fixtures.
